WorkSafeBC Form 83D202: Graduated Return-to-Work Plan

Contracted rehabilitation programs use this universal template to set out a worker's graduated return-to-work plan for WorkSafeBC, week by week. The provider ticks the program and whether it is an initial or revised plan, records employer and job details and current medical restrictions, then schedules hours at work, hours in clinic, and job tasks to perform or avoid for each day.

Who completes it

The program clinicians who write the plan name themselves on it and record whether the worker and the employer helped create it; WorkSafeBC notes the worker should rarely, if ever, be left out.

Submitting and payment

How to submit it
Submit the plan through WorkSafeBC's Provider Portal, and send copies to the worker, WorkSafeBC, the worker's physician, the employer and others as appropriate.
Who pays
The plan is filed under the provider's WorkSafeBC payee number, while wages during the plan (employer, WorkSafeBC or both) are confirmed by the WorkSafeBC officer.

  • For a revised plan, give the revision number and the weeks of the initial plan that have changed.

  • Programs covered include hand therapy, OR1, RTW support services, OT services, post-concussion management, pain and medication management, ECAT, the amputee program, customized programs and CMHP.

How this list is checked

A form is listed only after its name and number were confirmed on the issuing agency’s or insurer’s own website, or in the form itself. Each entry links to that source. The list was last checked in October 2026. Forms change without notice, so download the current version from the official page before you fill it in.

Frequently asked questions

Who pays the worker during a WorkSafeBC graduated return to work?

The WorkSafeBC officer confirms it, and the plan records the answer: the employer pays for hours worked, WorkSafeBC pays, WorkSafeBC and the employer share, or not yet confirmed. The plan also sets a start date, end date and length in weeks, with daily hours at work and in clinic.

Does the worker have to be involved in the GRTW plan?

WorkSafeBC expects it. The form asks whether the injured worker helped create the plan and requires an explanation if not, noting there should rarely, if ever, be a circumstance where the worker is not involved. It also asks whether the employer took part in creating the plan.
