When an Alberta auto insurer needs to determine a Daily Living Assistance (DLA) benefit under Care-First, it initiates this assessment by a health care practitioner. The report documents how the person's accident-related injuries affect their ability to perform activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs). Care-First starts January 1, 2027.
A health care practitioner completes the whole report when the insurer initiates the assessment.
