Georgia WC-240a Job Analysis (Suitable Employment)

Before a Georgia employer offers an injured worker suitable employment on Form WC-240, it prepares this job analysis describing the job's schedule, pace, lifting, carrying, push and pull forces, postures and hand use. The authorized treating physician reviews it and states whether the employee is released to the job as described, released only with restrictions, or not released. The signed analysis is filed with the WC-240.

Who completes it

The employer prepares and signs the job description on both pages. The authorized treating physician completes the block at the bottom of page 2: the medications question, the release decision, any restrictions, and name, signature and date.

Submitting and payment

How to submit it
The physician returns the signed analysis to the employer or insurer, which files it as an attachment to Form WC-240.
Who pays
The form sets no fee for the physician's review and does not say who pays for it.

Good to know

  • Item 1 of the physician block asks whether the employee can perform the job while taking medications as prescribed, separate from the release decision.
  • Three release choices: release to the job described, no release, or release only with restrictions, limitations or modifications written in.
  • Frequencies run never, occasional (up to one-third of the time), frequent (one-third to two-thirds) and constant (over two-thirds), with weights from negligible to over 100 lbs.
  • Revision 12/2018. The employer also lists equipment, tools and vehicles used and special environmental, vision, hearing or height considerations.

How this list is checked

A form is listed only after its name and number were confirmed on the issuing agency’s or insurer’s own website, or in the form itself. Each entry links to that source. The list was last checked in October 2026. Forms and their requirements change without notice, so check the official page for the current version before you complete one.
