Idaho APS Mandated Reporter Online Reporting Tool

The Idaho Commission on Aging runs a secure online system where mandated reporters and financial institutions report suspected abuse, neglect, self-neglect or exploitation of vulnerable adults aged 18 and older to Adult Protective Services (APS). A clinician uses it after suspecting that an adult patient is being abused, neglected or exploited, or is neglecting their own care. The public reports by phone to the local Area Agency on Aging instead.

Who completes it

A mandated reporter, including a health care professional, completes the whole online report; financial institutions use the same tool. Anyone else, and anyone wishing to stay anonymous, calls their local Area Agency on Aging.

Submitting and payment

How to submit it
Submit the report through the Commission on Aging's online APS reporting tool, linked from its Online Reporting Tools page. Call 911 for emergencies.
Who pays
The Idaho Commission on Aging lists no fee or payment for APS reports.

Good to know

  • The tool is restricted to mandated reporters and financial institutions; anonymous reports are not taken online and go to the local Area Agency on Aging by phone.
  • It covers adults 18 and older and four concerns: abuse, neglect, self-neglect and exploitation.
  • Nursing facility discharge notices have a separate Nursing Facility Discharge Notice Reporting Tool on the same Commission on Aging page.
  • The Commission on Aging lists every Area Agency on Aging in an online directory, for reporters who need to call instead of filing online.
