Oklahoma APS Online Report (OKHotline.org)

Oklahoma Human Services lets anyone, including physicians and nurses, report suspected abuse, neglect or exploitation of a vulnerable adult to Adult Protective Services online through OKHotline.org or by calling the Abuse and Neglect Hotline. The six-step online intake covers the reporter, incident, alleged victims, alleged abusers and witnesses, giving an APS specialist what they need to investigate.

Who completes it

The reporter completes all six steps and may choose to remain anonymous; reporter identity is protected under 43A O.S. 10-105.1. There is no section for the adult or family.

Submitting and payment

How to submit it
Submit online at OKHotline.org, which opens the OKDHS adult abuse reporting portal, or call the Abuse and Neglect Hotline. In an emergency, call 911; give an email address to receive a digital record of the submission.
Who pays
OKDHS lists no fee for reporting.

Good to know

  • The online portal is only for vulnerable adults; child abuse reports go to the Abuse and Neglect Hotline by phone.
  • If you remain anonymous and APS cannot locate the adult or reach you for verification, the case may not be investigated.
  • If you have trouble completing the intake online, call the hotline to speak with an intake specialist instead.
  • All reports are confidential, and the portal asks for as much detail as you can give to help the APS specialist investigate.

Frequently asked questions

Can I report child abuse online in Oklahoma?

No. The OKHotline.org portal is for reporting suspected abuse, neglect or exploitation of a vulnerable adult. Reports about a child go to the Abuse and Neglect Hotline by phone, and OKDHS states that anyone who believes a child is being abused or neglected has a legal responsibility to report it.

Should I stay anonymous on an Oklahoma APS report?

You can, but the portal recommends including your information so investigators can follow up with you. If you remain anonymous and APS cannot locate the adult or contact you for verification, the case may not be investigated. Reporter identity is protected under 43A O.S. 10-105.1 either way.
